Default Cracks on alloy wheel.

This doesn't look good. Just noticed crack on one of the spokes on my alloys.

Guessing it's a write off?

Yes mate, alloys came with the car that way on my daily driver. Only just noticed as i was looking to touch up the kerb marks. Its cracked the top spoke but don't think its gone all the way through, and half cracked the spoke below.

Very weird as never know one to crack like this as it doesn't look like its had an impact.

I don't think they have been power coated. On one of the wheels a chuck of black paint has come off and it shows grey underneath, in perfect condition. Doesn't even look like the person who sprayed them has even sanded the alloys down first. Think its just a spray can job.

Cheers for links. Will get it changed asap.

Very interested in this as i do alot of wheels as its my trade. I wet paint them and have good results but before i got into trade i had my wheels on my uk300 powder coated. They didnt crack but suffered very badly from stone chips after a few weeks.

My bugeye front o/s wheels cracked on the inside of the rim a few years back (having sustained impact with a fox at 70mph) ... resulted in an MOT failure.
