4pot caliper piston issue
Hello everyone
Very new to the scene and have an unbelievably bad knowledge of mechanics as proven by my ability to round bolts left right and centre!!
Got a beaten up scooby from my friend and currently working it to a roadworthy standard (i hope!!)
When attempting to change pads and disc ive found that the front drivers side 4pot caliper has a piston that will extend out but not retract fully, which explained why i had a severly half worn pad!
Confused as to why it wont retract properly as dont believe it to be seized if it would fully extend, any ideas on how to retract it fully?
Also whitesmoke from exhaust, but no mayo or lumpy oil hoping this could be from being sat for over 12 months?
Any advice would be extremely appreciated!!
Many thanks, Max

For anyone who gets stuck with the same issue, bodyweight and a flat bar may do it, if not a workbench vice wins muahahaha finally sorted out piston 1 on 4pots and both back 1pots. Take that corrosion and seizing!!!

Aye ive found a couple of breakers shifting the parts online front set of 4 pots for 180 plus p&p, it's the same for everyone though bills first then parts tempted by the seals and stainless kits, just have large doubts when it comes to my capabilities, but its a learning curve!! The idea i have in mind with regards to a plan progressing forward is safety first in regards to brakes suspension etc, then performance and then styling. Seem sensible enough?
This is my first scooby and attempt to get into fixing things so its by no means a short term project id say.
