Advice please....
My RB5 is fitted with Pirelli P Zero (Assymetrics? I think) 205/45/17's and the rears are near the limit. The front's have a few K left in them yet.
Should I swap all 4, or is it ok just to swap the rears? (preferable). I presume I should stick with the same brand, size etc.
What sort of price am I looking at?

Thanks,

Ste

You should replace all 4 at the same time really - & seeing as all 4 are on their way out it makes sense.
Depends what brand you buy but you can spend anywhere between £60 to £160 for a tyre.....you get what you pay for !
I am always of the opinion that all that sits between you & the road is a piece of rubber - so get the best !

Thanks Ro,
I'll squeeze what I can out of whats on and replace all 4. From previous threads it looks as if I can get a decent set for £300-£400.

Thanks Tony,
I've had a look on the scoobyworld site but which size is best?
215/40/17 @ £67.02 each or
215/45/17 @ £83.40 each.

Apologies if this has been done to death already or the answer is obvious from the price.

Ste,

As you already mentioned the RB5 has 205/45/17 fitted as standard. The closest equivelant is 215/40/17's. This is probably on 99% of Impreza's.

I haven't heard of anyone fitting 205/40/17's and don't know what problems (if any) they would cause.

I've replaced my Pirelli's with Goodyear Eagle F1 215/40/17's and haven't had any problems.

Haven't used the Toyo's myself, but heard good reports. I'd stick with 205/40/17's regardless of which manufacturer; unless you plan on fitting some new Pirelli P-Zero's, ut I wouldn't recommend that.
