Default weird brembo wear?

I had some used brembos fitted at weekend along with pads and discs, also used but plenty of meat on them, and had a local garage fit them, but i noticed stright away they was very little stopping power, the guy said they will need bedding in,
I have done 40ish miles now and noticed a weird wear patten on discs (see pic) its same on both sides, but rear wear looks ok and there is still no stopping power

My old subaru brakes were very poor too, but i put it down to seized calipers as i noiced they got quite hot on a run

Anyone any ideas? Im not 100% on the guy that fitted them tbh, i gave some braided hoses and new brake fluid, niether was used.....wont be using him again

The brembos dont really seize the same as the subaru 4 pots do. Maybe need new disks and pads or get the disks skimmed.

I had exactly the same for the first few hundred miles.

But did not have poor braking.

My guess was the pads had worn down to the specific caliber and side, when you refitted them to your car, possibly the pads went into different sides / Calipers. These having different wear patterns.

Where these are now not in contact with the disc yet ther rust is not being worn off.

After using the brakes for a while they wear so the disc an pad match and problem solved.

I had this problem with my new pads they were a bit to snug of a fit.
After filing a couple mm off each end the problem was solved.

HI
I would say they are like that as the pads are not bedded to the discs , looks like the pads were probably fitted to other discs which were worn , and has worn the pads to an uneven surface.

Take the pads out and rub them on emery cloth on a flat surface , this will get the pads flat , it should take about 50 miles to bed them into the discs to get them touching the whole surface then.

HI
It wouldn't be a pad issue in your case , you will have corrosion under the pad plates , that lifts the plates away from the caliper body making the pads a tight fit , doing what you have done will be a temp fix , the pad plates should be taken out to clean the corrosion out from under them

thanks everybody for the replys!

@ian, thanks I will give that a try, makes sense what you say, but only weird thing is I have the exact same wear pattern on both sides?!

Also just had a look on your site, and will these fit my car, its a v4 type r, might just bite the bullet and get some, change fluid and put braided hoses on, like the guy I paid was supposed to do!!!
