Question

I have Mintex M1144's on a Godspeed 335mm conversion and they squeal like a pig. How much of this is the pad or the lack of anti-squeal pads as they would not fit in the calliper?

Mintex are known for their squealing, though I had 1155 on before I upgraded to the 335mm Godspeeds, they squealed for a bit then setled down.
Only done 120 miles on the new set up so far with 1144's. Haven't herd a peep yet!!

Ive driven 300 miles on my Godspeed conversion. Only thing i have encountered so far is a knocking noise from the brakes at low speeds. Either the pads rattling or the grooves knocking on the pads? I am hoping it will all settle down in a few more miles.
No squealing as yet.

Steve,
As you know i have the same set-up as you, the anti squeal plates are missing from mine, but a really good dollop of copper slip on the back of the pads seems to have done the trick for me, now done 1500 miles on them, no squealing.

If you don't use the anti-squeel pads they will squeel. I have tried both with and without. A lot of difference.

Ive got Godspeed 294mm disks and 1144 pads and the pads came with some kind of backing sticker, did you guys get these with yours?

I fitted the sticker and my original shims and lots of coper grease and still get the occasional squeak but its few and far between.

Very happy with this setup I have to say.

Jon.
