Default Rota grid drift fitment

I've seen a lot of guys running 18x9.5 et38 however do you think et30 running 235 tires would fit an 05 sti or would they foul the arches? I'm aware it would require rolling and extra camber.

You'd struggle to get them to work, even with a lot of camber

Not really,we run 245/40 ZR18 with Rota Grid Drift 9.5JX18" ET38 on our wagon and camber has been bit -2.00 at front and at rear -1.5

And on his car will looks just OK,but coilovers will be needed for sure, camber bolts and rolled arches

If we are been able to fit and run those wheels on the wagon, then I would suspect he will be OK with them

Thanks,Jura

Most people running 18x9.5 et38 are using 225/40/18 and they require coil overs and an arch roll. Wheels that sit 8mm further out and have 4mm extra tyre height would mean he'd need to find an extra 12mm ish of clearance from somewhere. I would say that would require quite a lot of work

As you can see its on the wagon,saloon/sedan have extra arches which should help with tucking the wheels inside

ET30 that's for sure he will need bit of work and bit,but is doable as per this picture,Budgie run on his hawkeye at front ET38 and at rear ET30

ET38 on the front and with a 225/40 tyre still. Budgie obviously has a bit of extra clearance at the rear being a wide track which has the arch lip cut away already

So the et30s I was looking at sold however I've been offered a good price for some grid drifts in 18*9.5et20, I take it there's no chance these would fit with major arch work right?

Hi gents. I am new on here. got my 2002 wrx bugeye a few weeks ago.
I am also thinking of fitting rota 18" rota grid drifts. I am just wondering what is the widest I can go without them touching the body. Any help and comments will be appreciated.

18x8.5 is max.

Grids only made in 8.5 and 9.5

if its a 2005 then you have a widetrack with less rear arch lip,the same as the hawk eyes which i have seen people run 18x9.5 with coilovers and no arch mods or camber adjustments with no issues.

i too have a widetrack and thinking of going 9.5 but dont want to run the risk of rubbing and then having to attack the arches.

go 18x9 or 8.5 to be safe..rota force drifts look ace on a 18x9.

Hi Gents.
What width 18" tyres would fit on 8.5 grid drifts then without touching? I am also thinking of maybe lowering the 2002 bugeye wrx about 30mm with lowering springs. I have standard suspension on. what do you guys do?

Bit of a bump, are coilovers a must for grid drifts on a widetrack or could you get away with lowering springs on standard shocks?

Cheers Jaimie. Its a Hawk STI ive got just seems to be mixed advice on whats needed. Im aware I will need spacers for the front and most likely camber bolts for the rear would just like to fit them with minimum hastle.
