What with a baby due in a weeks time I can't justify going for a bigger caliper brake set up like I orginally planned been on Godspeed and seen a kit for £235 which consist of FRONT AND REAR GROOVED DISCS AND KEVLAR SPORT PADS just wondering if anyone has gone for these ? And what are your reviews on them ? If I go for this option I will also buy a set of braided hose to help with the stopping power to
I do about 50 miles a week which is a mixture of driving involving motorway and town driving so think this will be the best option
Cheers sam

Hi Mustoe , If you think about driving a bit harder or intend to do more miles.
You might like to consider Godspeeds 335 mm disk kit which still uses the standard caliper. I have them and I quiet satisfied. With braided hose and EBC pads however I paid double what you plan, you will need to tap the hubs with 14x2 to mount the new caliper brace, but the brake performance improvement over std is night and day. You can put them back to std easily too. I have 5 k on them now and all is well.

I had a set on my classic and they were fab
I even tracked them with no problems!! (the guarantee even covers track use!!)
I'll be getting a set for my STi when I refurb the brakes later on this year!!

I've got that exact set up on my bugeye & am very happy with it
The pads are very good & bite really well even from cold & despite the grooves the discs aren't noisy & pedal feel is the same as before.
I've also got braided hoses & would recommend them, they firm up the pedal feel & give you better braking with less effort from you right leg.
I've just replaced the front discs & pads with the same again & this time ive also fitted pair of their refurbed callipers with stainless steel pistons, will definitely buy the same discs & pads again when the time comes

How did you get on sam?
Having mine serviced this month and was planning to change the pads but the kit looks a bargain. Any feed back?

Worth every penny, especially if (fast) road is what you do mostly.
Guess they will hold up on a track for a few rounds as well.

Great for fast road driving but didn't survive a lap of the Nurburgring very well, Vibration was so bad by the end of the lap you couldn't make out the go pro footage, I must admit, they've recovered well with no judder through the peddle, guess they just got too hot with the heavy braking required. If I was to start doing track days I would definitely go with a different pad.

Thats why we don't recommend the kevlar pads for track days , never have and never will

Hi Ian, it wan't a dig at the quality of the set up, I was never intending to track days when I bought them, to be honest I didn't expect them to perform as well as they did, despite the judder there was no brake fade at all and still slowed the car down really well, for day to day use they're great, unfortunately I couldn't help myself but do a couple of laps having driven all the way there, on the twisty hairpins around the area though they were great.

Hi
Sorry didn't mean it to sound as though I was jumping on you lol , just agreeing with you that they are not suitable for track days and as such thats what we have always said.
They are a good pad , but what you have experienced is pad deposits from overheating the pads , which will clean off again when driving normally
Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, can you confirm whether these will fit a 1999 UK turbo wagon with 4 pot calipers? The ad says 2001 WRX but a few people on this thread have stated they had this kit on their classics. Your website has a combo deal on classic discs and kevlar pads for the front, but not the rears? Originally Posted by Godspeed Brakes

Yes the fronts are the same if you have the Subaru 4 pot calipers , the backs on the classic are smaller than the 2001 onwards WRX though , the classics use a 266mm disc and a one pot caliper.
We do offer a front and rear grooved discs and kevlar pad package for the classic's for £199.50

I know you say they aren't suitable for a track day..... but I did a fair few laps of Oulton Park a few years back with that very set up and they performed faultlessly! Originally Posted by Godspeed Brakes

Can I join in? I was thinking of getting the "BRAND NEW 4 POT CALIPERS WITH BLUESTUFF NDX PADS AND GROOVED DISCS"
But just wanted to know if 17inch Rota Boosts would clear them? At the moment they are on 5mm spacers. I assume they are on OEM replacement/upgrade and would thus fit the original wheels. Can anyone please advise?
