Default Tyre confusion?

Right the story goes I bought a bug wrx with the sti wheels already fitted with 235-45-17 tyres on the 17 x 7.5 rims. The wheels was in bad condition so I bought some 17 x 7 niņo it redlines with 225-45-17s fitted but now car looks under tyred and the space between the arch is quite big. So I have now gone a bought another set of sti wheels only to find out after I paid they actually come with 225-45-17s as standard and always have. Do you think the previous owner put the 235s on to fill the arch gap better???????????? I don't want to lower it if I don't have too as it's set up nice on sti suspension etc and has Lichfield geometry set up and don't want to mess with how good it drives. And that was done when I bought car with the sti wheels and 235s on. Basically I'm asking is will car drive ok,handle, and accelerate the same or better with 235s on? I know subaru themselves put 225s on when they made the sti and it left the showroom..

the 235's will be a bigger rolling circumference therefore wrong for the gearing of the car

I can't think why the last owner put on 235s then can you? To be fair car looked better so advice is to go for the 225 s and just accept it's going to just look generally high?

Subaru put a lot of time and effort in to work out the gearing, changing wheels and tyres is not a problem but the rolling circumference must be kept close to original
