my mam has a skoda fabia and the remote key fob is faulty or the battery is flat in the key which opens the car door by pressing the key .so is this right she took it to the skoda dealer and he said you need a new key ..so my mam said said ok then how much ? he said £35.00 for the key so she said bloody hell..Then ok i will have one so he said you will have to book it in she said what for a key he said yes and that will be a extra £80.00its got to be programmed in so all together that will be £115.00 for a key now come on can anybody tell me if thats right or are they taking the ****. or is there a cheaper way.

Volkswagen Key Disassembly

If you do need a new key, ask about on BriSkoda for someone in the know to use VAG.COM (VAG diagnostic software downloaded and use a laptop and OBD cable to interrogate the ECU). Apparently you need to know the SKC code but it can be sorted.
