What a SUPRIZINGLY bloody good day...
Got my new Bailey DV 26 yesterday, fitted it and scrapped the other thing i had.
Woke up this morning and did a little searching about on tinternet for other things when I came across this and it got me thinking aboout my catch can setup so I made some modifications and got itchy feet....
Woke up our lass and we headed out......
Tank full of fuel, we headed from sunny bradford to settle and the singing kettle cafe for breakfast, then over to ingleton viaduct, across to hawes, down to devils bridge, up towards the lakes and over to barrow in furness, did the coast road to ulverton, then back down to windermere, over to kendal, up over shap found the icecream farm going out to penrith, up over hartside down to alston across to scotch corner and down the a1 back into leeds..... weather was awesome, roads were a blast, didnt really smash the gas pedal much apart from when the road were clear, ie barrow to ulverton, up shap, hartside and then down to alston...... bloody good day....
Now your waiting for the SUPRIZING bit right.....
All on 1 tank of fuel, 310 miles took 45 litres to fill it back up so 27mpg i couldnt believe it.....
I'm not sure what has happened but 120 more out of a tank normally im fighting last dregs at 190 miles with similar driving......
Can a different DV and catch can setup make such a difference.....
This is also on a 2.5 litre with 440 at 4bar?
needless to say I was very chuffed lol

Nope, just a constant travelling at regular speeds increases mpg. When I took mine up for a drive round North Yorks with a few mates, I managed about 29mpg, but when you only do short journeys and or stop/start (traffic) driving it uses more fuel.

You relaxed and enjoyed it, instead of "fighting" it....
I shudder at the fuel consumption some club members get on a run out...
LOL

Dump valve only really messes things up during gear changes to.

lol seein this link made me work out what i spent on fuel for that day, and well i spent £80 on fuel this including about 230miles there and back to stoke, i did total of about 330 miles ish, £80 fuel is about 77 leters, about 20 gallon which equals about 16.5MPG for the day lol but that is including racing on the track lol
im a big moaner about petrol n used to a suzuki swift 1.3 glx which did about 55mpg, but it was more than well worth it for that 1 day
