I used to get 300. Once I even had 360 !!!!
Now Im getting a miserable 260.... lol I dont know if it the weather or coz of my dump valve playing up. Im getting more flames than usual and its a bit juddery. See my thread about the engine management lights for more info

If yours is a 2.5 you probably would get 350-400 as theres more low down torque but the 2.0 wrx lacks a bit dont get me wrong still quicker than most but 2.5 is much better and i did notice a few flames when we went to studley lol i was quite shocked

mine a hawkeye sti totally standard and i have never had no more than 220 miles from a full tank. I heard that scoobys were bad on fuel but never thought they were this bad! worth it though.

If i drive say, 50mph, i can get it nearer 300 (and I think my dump valve is letting me down too, so that needs to get changed to a better one), i'll probably lose the flames but gain a lot more fuel gain.
But who wants to drive at 50mph in a scoob... (less its a 50mph or less road of course officer) lol.

In my 04 WRX I used to average 245 between filling up and the light coming on, I once got 310 on the motorway though.
In my 07 STI the best we've seen so far was about 240, or so the wife says

**** lagamorph, you're either driving 150mph everywhere or thats really poor mpg bud. Its worth chucking some money to improve the mpg, you'll get that money back in no time. You do lots of little journeys to the shop? (or worse still, do you let the missus drive it?) Helen uses my car and i lose 3mpg straight away. Am sure she's racing...

that'll explain it, never gets fully warmed up, have you done an mpg check when on a run, you might be better to drop the original map on it unless your fully modded, or you could have a dual map, pm me we could meet up and i'll have a look.

I just got 175 out of a tank but i've got a bit of a lead foot as i've only had the car a month.
Reigning it in a bit but still don't get much more than 200.
Its been re-mapped by previous owner so prolly needs looking at.

You wouldn't want to. My lips get very sore through having to bite them the whole time to avoid getting into trouble for "making suggestions".
The only time I didn't have a problem was when we (she) had to drive from Leatherhead to the Shell services just south of Luxembourg (the city - about 350 miles) to fill up with very cheap V Power as it was too early in the morning for my normal topping up point at Ashford.
OK, so I'm tight but when I discovered the price of petrol in Luxembourg about 6 or 7 years ago It is always my first and last point of call if holidaying abroad!
Just to add to that, I had a particularly sedate drive recently and managed to get to 299.5 miles before the fuel light came on - I was quite pleased with that but frustrated as I was aiming for 300 at that point!

Is yours a standard STI? What was the 'sedate drive' like? Long motorway miles at 70? I'm still trying to get to know mine so any tips would be appreciated
I'm feeling a Top Gear syle challenge. Everyone starts at the Prodrive factory and we see who can go the furthest
