Default Engine Management Lights

Bloody lights have come on, on way home

The last time this happened, was when I first fitted my forge motorsport dump valve and K&N. Resolved it by changing the spring to a tighter spring.

Scoobclinic as you know, rebuilt and mapped my car, although there was air flow issues, so they removed the K&N altogether and put the original airbox on.

Ive driven over 2,000 miles without an issue but the lights have popped on.

Im thinking its the dump valve, although I cant tell without putting the original recirc back on and driving for about 150 miles and hope the lights will automatically switch themselves off.

Any ideas or confirmation of what ive said will be most appreciated guys.

When I visited 0121 subs on saturday, they went off.... Then on the way home, they came back on.

I really think its the dump valve, H suggested a bit of WD40 as the oil may have froze up/spring is stuck so I will try that. Failing that, it'll be a new dump valve I think. Will let you know when its warm enough for me to get to it, probably this weekend

I'm not exactly an expert on turbo's but I'm with H on this one. There's plenty of evidence from other owners all over Scoobynet who have had adverse reactions to fitting aftermarket dump valves. Get the re-circ back on and I bet it will cure it

Or remove it, and blank it off as I have done and will be doing when the next mods get done...

I changed it back to the recirc but since it was mapped to the DV, when the recirc is on, it pops and bangs even more and judders a lot. Think its a choice of remapping it to standard recirc or getting another dump valve (a decent one) and its cheaper to go for the dump valve

+1 with Tom, I could be wrong, shouldn't make any different to the mapping but I think you've got more of an issue than just the DV.

dont mess till you address things with your mapper!!! asuming it is d/v related on a personal note im with hammer man all my turbo'd cars had run d/v removed to induce compressor surge(live throttle) however all had turbos strong enough to do so and were all counted for in the mapping.
You first need to know what the light is on for (fault code ) and work from there, im with mark on this seems more than just d/v to me as said before best to speak to the person that set it up imo

the lights go off as well.... now the temp has gone up from -13 to 0/1/2/3 degrees, the dv is making noises like it should. Def think its the DV, I put the original recirc on and the car didnt like it at all. My previous experience with this problem was related to the DV, the car is barely 12 months old and got sorted when I put a tighter spring in the DV.

It could be something to do with the oil in the DV, the DV has been disassembled and reassembled several times so I imagination some of the lubrication has gone as some of it has ended up on my hands...

I have spoken to the mappers (scoobclinic who I let do the whole lot, change complete exhaust system, turbo, engine rebuild, map) and so on and they agree it is most likely the DV. I am thinking about getting a better one, maybe the GFB or Turbosmart rather than forgemotorsport, which I seem to hear more and more bad things about i.e. leakage and so on.

forge d/v are s**t for scoobys as there is too much boost for them, if it is the d/v it must be bad to raise a cel, imo i would blank it off as your car could handle it and just check it does not req map tweek or if you wish to keep the d/v then go for a secquential type like a hks sqv ect..
