Spotted this STi whist waiting for the Comino hotel boat to pick us up.
Quality number plate. But then you see loads of three letter words on Malta & Gozo.

They don't go in for detailing much over there.

Back there again in September for some more of this :-

I can hardly believe this, I just saw another STi from the UK. A different street but still in Bugibba. This time it was a 53 plate. with a London prefix.
I wonder how much it would cost to take a car all the way from the UK to Malta, does anybody know? My family is from there, and they keep asking me to come and stay. If I did, I couldn't go without my car.

I've seen about half a dozen so far, but only two had UK reg plates.
I hired a car to get around the Island to show my girlfriend all the places I used to go when I lived there as a kid.
This stupid little car (Getz) can't even get up a hill with four people in it. I have to go up the hill with the two lightest passengers in first gear, then go back for the other one. Next time I'm not hiring an economy model, it's too embarrassing.

The weather's absolutely fantastic right now. It's about 30c now and getting warmer day by day. There's usually a good breeze though, to take the edge of the heat.
St Paul's bay is where a lot of Maltese people have their holiday home. My aunt/uncle live there during the summer. There's not much there for the tourist though. It's also where I had my first alcoholic drink in a bar. When I was 12 my dad bought me a bottle of beer in "Johnny's bar". That was in 1971 and the bar is exactly the same now as it was then. Only the prices have changed.
Bugibba is only a 10 minute walk away. Much more tourist friendly, but watch out for the timeshare touts in the mornings.
let me know if you want any tips on what to see, where to go etc.
I'm going to Santa Venera till Monday, then taking the 06:30 flight home. I wish I could stay longer.

So you're in the Bugibba/Qawra area.
Don't take the car to Valletta, as you'll have to park outside the city. Take the bus. I think the bus numbers to get there are 58, 59, 159. It's only half a Euro (€0.54c) each way, and the buses are every 10 mins.
If you're going to Gozo, you should also think about a trip to the blue lagoon on Comino.
I'm not very keen on Melleiha (Għadira) bay. I much prefer Għajn Tuffieha. (Għajn is pronounced like the girls name Ann).
Since you have a car, don't be afraid to come off the main (potholed) roads and venture onto the dirt tracks in the west. Some of them can take you to stunning scenery, and deserted coves and small beaches that even many locals don't know about.

If you were heading down the west coast, did you have a look at the Dingli cliffs?
I'm back home now. I left Malta with 31°C and glorious sunshine, to come back to cloudy, damp miserable weather at only 15°C.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Also stayed in the Sunny Coast down the road...
last time I was there... there was a huge outbreak of some nasty virus in the Qawra Palace..

number plates EVO 360 VICKI MICKY, DAVE, 3 seems like you can hav whatever you want
shame it's so ****e here in UKTony
Yeah, I saw a Ferrari with the reg "JG", probably the owner's initials.
...and another, a tarted up Chav mobile with just the letter "X" for a reg plate. How cool is that.
There are also a lot of old 60's and 70's cars in near perfect condition used as daily runners.

...and I took a picture of a mk2 Cortina, in concourse condition.
At the other end of the scale, I also saw a Humber Sceptre which looked like it had been used as a chicken coup.
