SWISS TONY
Not actually Swiss Tony himself in person but went to API engines today to pick up my STi Ver3 and saw a lovely deep blue classic with his name on the rear windows rally style! It was in the workshop next to mine! Empty engine bay so hope not repairing but is upgrading!

yes tis mine....unfortunately not good news. This is now my second rebuild of the bottom end in 1 year !!. Almost a year apart
Car had not long ago been for a major service and about 3 1/2 weeks after, it suddenly let go and produded an oil leak.
Diagnosed as coming from the bottom end somewhere by two different garages before wending its way up to API. David took the engine out and apart and it seems that the two main bearings have had oil starvation.. which is a bit bloody odd since it just had a full oil service, anyway new bearings, head gaskets, crank and an overhaul.
Hopefully waiting for david to give a call any minute today so I can go and pick her up.
Not exactly waht I wanted to hear just before the most expensive time of the year, but there you go.
thx for the spot btw.

Well Swiss, you've brought it to the right place. Just had my classic DBM rebuilt by API. Touch wood, the reputation and experience of API means we'll both not have to go through the curse of a rebuild for quite a while yet

Yes, just come back home now after what was a truely horrendous journey up there and back. But the car is back home at last and although a few millions pounds lighter in the pocket, the car is running and sounding lovely. and the good news, is since no heads or pistons were touched, there is no need to run her in. so after a gentle run home of 80-100 odd miles, time to open her up
smiles all round.
