actually will agree with you there , apart from the doddery old slow fools on the *** , the roads around the island were fun to drive on, loads of dips and curves

didnt see any coppers so that was a bonus, just had to watch out for horses and blooming boats on trailers ....

Most of the roads on Anglesey and north Wales were fine, when I was up there in May. Shame about the weather though... absolutely chucked it down when I headed up towards the RAF base. Had enough time to jump out, leg it across to the edge of the car park, snap a pair of jets, and dive back into my car again!

I liked it though. Even the ghostly bell toll, at Penmon Point.

TBH, me being down sarf and all and used to horrendous roads/traffic jams etc, the run up to angelsey was a breath of fresh air (once I got past brum and chester )
The *** along the coast is an odd road, as in its an absolute blast when no-one is in your way but for some reason the welsh drivers (have to be careful here being an honoury welsh SN member and all) drive like miss daisy ..or whatever the welsh equivilent is ..probably dai daisy i dunno !!

Driving up there was a hoot, had my two boys in the back and when we approached the tunnels, we wound down the windows, turned on the flamer kit and blasted through them, flaming like mad

Got quite a few gestures which I can only assume meant "good on you son, have a bit of fun " though it looked suspiciously like a "merchant banker" gesture to me
Maybe it was the english flag i was sporting on my rear windows

once i got onto the island..yes horse boxes and tractors a plenty, plus the boats being towed but by then i didnt care and just enjoyed the lack of police, speed cameras and open roads

The best road for speed *cough* that I encountered was the A487, south from the A470, near Dolgellau. Dead straight for miles. I think even my old Citroen BX might have reached 3 figures down there

I did yearn for my Scooby round the roads of Snowdonia though... but not when refuelling... the Fabia vRS isn't as much fun, but by eck it fecking goes a bit further between fill ups!

The inconsistency of the signs on the roads through the mountains was the concerning thing. You'd see warnings for a tight corner, slow down, and then find you needn't have bothered, as the corner could be taken at say 50mph, and then without warning encounter something close on a hairpin, and just about get round it, ingesting most of the driving seat through one's anus in the process...

No wonder so many accidents happen up that way.
