Question Silver Scooby Turbo nr Blackburn

No idea if this is the correct place to post this but here goes

Had a "do" with a Silver Scooby Turbo the other day (last monday to be exact) nr Blackburn, was on the back lanes nr Mellor.

I was in the Dark Silver Cooper S.

Just wondering if who ever it is (had to be a bloke ) frequents these forums, if you do mate your a nutter

Some extra info on the car incase anyone knows of it or have seen it about....

It's light silver, 5dr, T reg I think, like the last of the classic shape before the bug eye job

also had gold alloys and a magnex exhaust, errrr thats all I can think of to distinguish it.

look forward to seeing if anyone knows of it

That sounds very like my mate Mick's car...

He bought it of another mate of mine Carl, we all work at Samlesbury.

I'll ask him about any "mini adventures" tomorrow!

p.s. it's a standard UK Turbo 2000 apart from the ghay Magnex oval exhaust, it's even got a cat & everything!

Seen your car about if it's the one I'm thinking of. Lowered, alloys, larger bonnet scoop, etc!?

If so, you keep parking near me outside S430

I'm sure i've since seen his car parked out front of the CEB?

Yeh that sounds like mine or my mates (dark purple one) both are identical cars

S430 now were getting technical, i've only just realised which ones 4 shed

mines parked outside the AEB or round the back of 4 shed next to the new JSF building, my mates is parked outfront of the CEB/4 shed/2 shed area - hope that made some sense

LOL

It's not standard though I take it!?

Standard UK Impreza's aint that quick once rolling though, he'd waste you from a standing start, that's 4wd for ya, but on the move they're not the quickest on the road these days.

He works in CEB so yeah you will have seen it parked out there, S430 is the new JSF building which is where I work.

Seen both yours and the purpley one.

Nope, aint got an Impreza, never had one, although been close a couple of times...

Had various cars, but currently got a 306 GTi-6 and a Renault 5 GT Turbo.

It's standard'ish

Yeh thats quite true, a lot of the modern hot hatchery will give them a run for their money once moving, but the scoobs have the 4wd launch which will get the jump on most cars from a standing start!

Thought that was his car out front there, ahhh rite thats where S430 is, i've recently started parking down there so yes that would be my car.

Yeh my mate with the purple one works in the CEB as well, nice to know the cars get noticed....in a good way I hope

That white R5 GTT is mine!

Had it about 3.5 years now, it's a second car I have as a toy, had a grey one for a couple of years before that as well, cracking little cars, so fun to drive.

The 306 is a rare old shape GTi-6, the squarer front end model, it's diablo red, I'm in it today, but been using the R5 lately as the gearbox is goosed in the Pug.

never saw the grey one unfortunately my mate used to have one, said it was a good car to drive, tho his kept breaking

ah rite, i'll keep my eyes open for that as well, the gearbox going on the blink a common problem with them??

Aye it's pretty tidy for a 15 year old motor.

Only just got it back on the road after a good year or more of being in storage, it's had plenty of love & attention (& money) lavished on it to get it that way, I originally bought it 3.5 years ago with a blown engine, but sound bodywork, and stripped my grey one (which had serious rot) to build one good car.

Currently back on the standard alloys as the others are about to be refurbed, possibly in white, not sure yet, here's an older pic though.

Got things like clear indicators & stuff now to clean the look up a bit, although it's still basically original looking, I prefer it that way, they're rare now.

More tweaks done mechanically though, uprated parts where needed to keep it running cool & safe, then performance & handling upgrades, like a hybrid turbo, exhaust, filter, Avo coilovers, etc...

Never had the grey one at work, so you'd never have seen it.

The gearbox failing is not that common on the GTi-6 actually, I was just unlucky, I had it nailed round to 7500rpm in 2nd, went for 3rd and there was an almighty bang!

p.s. you might have seen some of my previous cars prior to the GTi-6, I had a black Civic Type-R with a nice quiet (not) exhaust on, a Clio 172 Cup before the CTR, then a red 306 Rallye before the Clio and a modded 106 GTi (blue with white alloys & morettes) before the Rallye.
