Hope you don't make a habit of that mate - but if you do I hope you've got a kncoklink!

No it doesnt Andrew, you just havnt noticed the difference yet, optipish™ all the way for me, SUL at a push (if im desperate) and certainly never at a supermarket. tsk. your all supposed to be enthusiasts.
its like comparing Skol in a can from a supermarket to a draught Stella from a good whitbread pub
Jamie, seen that wagon around myself lately.

No optimax within 10miles of me and SUL is a bit of a trek. They have however stuck SUL in at Sainsbury's now - but as i tried it and it felt no different.
There's a shell garage in the next road from my house - but no bloody optimax grrr. If it did stock it i would most likely use it!

And what's the problem with using 95 if you have a Uk car?
I use it for day to day tootling around. Why waste your money on something that "alledgedly" increases power when you don't need it.
Anyhoo - for all you know he could be using octane booster or making his home brew stuff to get 105RON

I don't find much economy difference - but i do try to stick optimax in now and then to give it a clean through. I make sure I use optimax for track use though.
Dazza: just did that check and as expected the one i knew about was the only one nearby.

Optimax gives similar economy to Tesco's normal UL in normal day to day driving. I don't see much point in paying 6p per litre extra for the stuff even if I do see a *slight* improvement in pick up.
Jim
PS MY02 WRX UK standard car so 95 ron won't make a bit of difference!!!
Edited to say: I may dabble with this new BP 100 ron stuff for a few tanks when it comes out though...
