just read this on Corsa Sport...

Well i was driving home from work in traffic when i modified scooby was behind me, well he heee

He pulled up next to me when my mate goes "wouldnt it be funny if we slowed down and the guy in the scooby did aswell and we both booted it about 50 / 100yds" I thought "Yeaaaaaaaaaaah" Soooooooooooooooooooo...............

I put my window down he looked at me and smiled we both slowed right down and gave around 70yds worth of space in front of us, (i was in the inside lane and he was in the outside lane) everyone behind was gettting rather fcuked off we both looked at each other floored it at exactly the same time (i pulled off in second). Both EXACTLY even the whole time until we caught the cars in front

He slowed back down and gave me the up as if to say nice one

I was well chuffed with that and didnt actually think i even had a little chance of keeping up with a scooby

Well happy with that

who will own up to it?

think the guys corsa has a 2.0-litre 16v engine fitted

Phil

Silly question, but how did Corsadriver™ know the Scoob was modified? Was it driving around with its bonnet open or something?

Why do all these folk make their headlights smaller? Just imagine the night-time carnage if they tried the same trick on a Scoob...

Why does everyone beleive a scooby is the fastest car in the world,
I have an evo and a scooby, the evo would kill it on power
But im selling that and keeping the scooby as i just prefer and dont really race around anyhow Theres so many quick cars around even they are novas\corsas etc-who cares

The more worrying thing is that SalsaKing is cruising Corsa forums.

the thing is the corsa/nova/saxo boys will NOT win out over any track racing...corners are bad things for there big heavy engines and none existent(spelling) traction on corners especially in the wet

Ive owned a corsa gsi(very nice one)and although not as quick as the 2.0 16v it did stick to corners, you would always have the front spinning on the inside wheel so traction was lost for the quick exit. presume even worse on the bigger engine valvers?

Once I was in my current scooby it was totally different and the handling was more or less spot on. not sure about std scooby cos i have h&r coilovers so cannot comment on there handling but i presume will not be far off????

Friend of mine had a 2.0 16v Nova fully stripped out with coilovers on it. in a straight line it would eat most things but bends were still a tad tricky!! I have heard of a 2.0 16v turbo Novas aswell they must be stupid! but the reason he did the conversion was cost £2550 for somthing that quick? fair play!!

all you f****ing d***head hot hatch drivers who think your little tin pots will beat a 'standard uk turbo' read up on the performance figures. How many of your super mini's will hit 60 in 5.5 secs?????? no i didn't think so. I think you all live on fantasy island. They may not be as quick as the jap imports but unless you drive a teg R or civic R or one of them seat cupras then wake up!!!! corsas novas rs turbos and the like just don't cut it. the only hot hatch to ever get the better of my slightly modified uk turbo was a clio cup and that took the p***. don't know waht state of tune but it blew me away.

This thread is funny

All i can say is at Trax - fastest 0-60 was a nova

0-60 in 2.83 seconds! lol

My mates skyline GTR did 3.44 seconds and was happy with that. But wasnt happy a nova beat him. lmfao

A standard 1.4 corsa weighs abt 250kg less than a cav gsi so with a 2.0 under the bonnet i dont think its going to trouble a scooby to much do you!!!!!

that twin engined nova at trax (2 x 2L 16v engines) was quick in a straight line, but looked very unimpressive on the track though. still shouldnt knock it, beating evo`s,imprezas, skyliners, etc 0-60 is a job well done.

Stop being so snobby. A corsa just about kept up with me last week. When we stopped it turned out he had a 300bhp Calibra turbo lump and 6 speed box. My car is 311bhp and i'm not ashamed! Its still a Corsa, but will DEFINITELY trouble some of you lot!

Scoobs aren't the fastest things in the world you know!

just seen a mini with 2 R1 yamaha engines in Over 300 bhp! So are f***ing mini's faster than uk turbo's as well now?? get real you to**ers if you are running a big lump or two f'in engines it hardly counts as standard does it. try just changing the standard bits for performance parts and then see how your luke warm hatches perform.
