Default Bigger turbo for a classic (turbo 2000)

For a MY00, any out there? Preferably a VF series.

Must be in good working order with no smoke or excess play in the shaft, no cracked compressor or exhaust housings either.

cash waiting

Thanks

Been offered a VF22 locally but i hear they dont like more than 1.2 bar.

Im ideally after something i can run at 1.5bar max and to give me around the 350bhp mark with slightly lower torque so not to put too much stress on the gearbox.

The car is a MY00 and has 47k on it so hopefully it should be able to take that sort of power ok.

Supporting mods are

Hybrid FMIC
Walbro 255
Induction kit
3" H&S decat DP
2.5" prodrive decatted system
Either 550's or a FPR
Uprated Plugs
Ecutek remap by JGM with octane booster

im thinking a TD05 16g would be ideal, an 18g might be a bit too laggy on the 2.0 and pushing the limits on things....im open to ideas and advice though

Hi, I have a td05 16g in good working order converted to front entry by Andy forest, very good turbo which had me running 340 with 550's and 1.4 bar boost. It had the same mods as you basicly. Let me know if interested cheers.

I have read up on the vf22 and I'm led to believe they are good for 400bhp. I used to run one on my type r at 1.4 bar and that was 370bhp with a fully forged rcm built engine and I never had an issue with it.

i had a vf35 at 1.2 bar years back with all the supporting mods and it wasnt much better than the td04 at 1.2 bar, i was a bit disappointed tbh.

Why at 1.2 bar? Mines around 1.5 and makes for a great drive
Who mapped it?

It was mapped by one of the top mappers, on a 99 turbo 2000 with STI TMIC, sard fpr, walbro full decat exhaust and downpipe and panel filter on apexi power fc. Think it was mapped for safety at 1.2 prob coz it was on 97 ron :-( we dont have v power here.

this time im goin TD05 and 550's with hybrid front mount and supporting mods.
