I have got a nearly new Hayward and Scott system in the garage for sale. Looks the part and is very compliant whilst pootling and opens up nicely when you want to open the taps
but its 3" bore exhaust all way threw, adds more power, i've been in 2 minds if to fit or not, is your down pipe 3" bore or 2.5"?
3" doesn't add more power so I would not fit it unless you are running more than 400bhp, that is an average change up point from 2.5" to 3" as you need a greater volume to release the gasses.
Well i fitted a 3" system to mine and you could straight away feel the difference and i'm not running any where near 400 bhp
I got more power across the rev range

Not my impreza no but a friends yes, P1 running just a remap so 320/330bhp - fitted the 3 inch and it made delivery worse. The difference was noticeable.
If anything this shows us everyone has difference experiences I guess.
I had a 3" japspeed system on my impreza and swapped that for a 2.5" prodrive system and made no difference to the power of the car or how it drives on the road but is just loads quieter now with the prodrive exhaust
