Hi, I have an MY99 Uk car in perfect running order for what you need.
£1500 and it has probably got £500 worth of easy sale parts on it that you dont need.

You been on VWKD - VW Camper and Beetle Conversion from aircooled to watercooled
if you look in the for sale section I know there is a Legacy going for £300 (linked to Mud-club.com) I posted it on there myself and you'll also find a few engines there which have been spotted in breakers yards.
Good luck with the conversion.... I'm getting closer and closer to finishing mine.

Haha wow thats amazing! sorry, that metro comment must have been offensive! What lump you putting in? My bus has the old engine out, fuel tank moved etc, it should be complete within a couple of weeks (fingers crossed!). Good luck with yours mate, have a feeling that'll be rather swift!

Its a 1995 WRX 2.0, TD05, STI ECU JDM engine. should be pretty tasty.
I've got a Porsche 915 Gearbox, Quaiffe diff, 944 brakes front and rear plus loads more
I fitted these in the other day, got the matching rear bench fitted too
Honestly check out that forum, they have a section dedicated to Subaru installs and also check out RJES.com as the guy has lots of Info and parts to make the conversion easier.
I've been doing this for a year in November but I had to redesign the rear end of my car and got somewhat side tracked with my new Green laning monster landrover Discovery I brought.

Will definately have a peek, I already am a frequent visitor to the rjes website. Interior looks spot on! Good luck with the conversion, hope to see it at a show soon! Bought a wrx engine for mine originally, and a td05 turbo for it...but parts of the loom were missing and I couldn't match it! So stuck with the 2.2. Will get there eventually!

My Notch was a Australian import, So not a single patch of rest on the old girl, not bad considering its 38 years old. And I too can not wait for the luxury of proper heating lol
I'm guessing you've got a bay window then?
I honestly can say that I doubt I would ever be able to sell mine after the amount of work and effort I had to put into it. I get the impression that it wont be long till they bury me in it hehe
