I have modified fuel rails for a Phase 1.5 inlet manifold with screw in -6 ends for sale as done by MEF, not gonna use them now.
Here is some info, i paid £60 for them
The main reason for converting the fuel rails is when you have changed the fuel regulator for a remote type like an SX. The pipework on the Subaru leaves a lot to be desired, many joins with rubber pipe/steel pipe/clips etc, potentially lots of leaks especially with increased fuel pressure.
Most people use the opportunity to upgrade the whole system to -6 stainless braided 200 hose with Goodrige alloy threaded fittings, also many convert to a parallel system rather than the rails being in series, this is supposed to reduce the fuel starvation from No4 cylinder at the end of the series run (by the regulator) which reduces the chances of it running lean and detonating No4.
