Looking for a Skoda Octavia VRS or 1.8T Elegance Estate 4x4
As per title maximum I have to spend is £6500. I am looking for a lowish mileage and relatively new or am I just being unrealistic? How are these cars for reliability? Its quite a lot for me to be spending at the moment so a good drive and reliability is high on the list. Also what is Insurance like for them.
Any other advice/anyone selling?
If no joy will probably be an Ford Focus 1.8 or Audi A4 5 door 1.8T from my local Mitsubishi dealership. Any comments on these cars?
Thanks
Aaquil.

The skoda VRS, IS DEFINETELY the pick of the bunch, its a car I wanted not so long ago. I researched it and it seemed a nice, reliable, relatively fast, well-built and fairly luxurious motor. MPG is definetely better than a scoob, same engine as an entry level Audi TT (1.8: 180 BHP), HOWEVER 0-60 is at the 7 second mark, roughly two secs slower than a scoob. Mind you most cars are. You can always have it chipped LATER and take it up to 200 BHP!!
£6500? Its too little, for that money you can only get a highish mileage one. With a bit more say £7000+ you could get a nice very low mileage one, with full deraler service history, black's best colour IMO. They seem to go on for ever, 120 k ones seem to go for around £5k on autotrader!
Im only 25, so I may well get one in a couple of years, who knows if you take my advice and buy a good one I may buy from you!!
Good Luck

hi mate,
just got my second one two weeks ago, it is a very nice car for 7000.
I did see a few a bit lower than that but mileage was into 75k +, had no probs with them apart from a sticky brake calipper and a/c clutch/compreser thing broke. The drive and comfort is very nice and no too bad on the speed. as mention above you can change exhaust and chip them which takes them too around 225bhp.
