Yes, You could swap it for a stolen one as well

'Don't call me stupid'

Seriously, are IM that paranoid that you can't buy simple parts to fit yourself without having to take the car into the dealer? (Stupid Question I know )

But, surely they would not be fooled by a WRX with a UK VIN number? I think if they did see one they would be straight onto Plod!

I thought that I replied to this last night...

Give Roger Clark Motorsport a call on (01455) 828610 and they will get one for you without needing a VIN number.

Thanks

Gavin

You can't buy - or rephrased as you shouldn't be able to buy without them taking your VIN. What he means is Charlie, he will say I have a MY94 UK - this is my VIN, and they will ship the part. He isn't going to say - this is my WRX and this is the VIN for it. IM really are that paranoid - and no garage would help me without me admitting that it was an import- and only then only 2 garages were prepared to ship me the part I needed based on my GC8 number! Interesting.

Have you tried the breakers. I got one a year or so back, it was half the price of a new one and they don't give a flying t*ss if its for a UK or import!
