Just on the off-chance somebody has a pair of 1.5 inch SU carbs laying around that they don't need?
If you have, please let me know, i have cash waiting! Cheers.

Hello M8, Ive hunted high and low, I have twin 1 3/4s but these will give you "carbwash" ie too much fuel, and I have a beautiful set of gasflowed 1 1/4s so if its a 998cc youve cracked it, but I cannot find the 1 1/2s. I think they were on our last rally car, when we ran out of money we sold the 45 webber and bulkhead airbox we made and put the 1 1/2 on it. Once the car was completely shagged we sold the jack knight gearbox and cam, oilcooler luminition etc and buried the car in a large hole on the farm along with other farm junk about a year ago and I wasnt there so I bet the carbs were on it. Im going to have one last look then dig the bugger up and check cos you have me wondering now, in the words of an american politician, "Ill be back!!"

Cheers fella!
Yeah, unfortunately 1.75s will be too big; it's a 1275 +20 thou, so 1380. Appreciate you taking the time to rummage around like this.

No carbs on burried car.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. You really want to go with a single 45 webber or throttle bodies if the budget allows, the BHP dividend is worth it. I am now going to check else where for these carbs, I think they may have been given away. Im going to check about local garages, you never know!

Webers are an option, but this is on a pretty-much concours condition Mk1 Cooper S, and as such i'd prefer it to look fairly original, if upgraded a little!
I just want to avoid paying Mini Spares Centre £350 for a brand new set of 1 1/2s...
