Hello Mate, there is a big difference in the breeds you've mentioned - I've got a dobe and a rotty, there is a large difference in thier characters and I've had others in the past. My mates got a staffy and they are LOTS different again. If you are after a tough dog then wittle it down to ONE breed and then look at several pups - It'll be with you a long time and take it from me you've gotta pick the right one - I've re-homed recues and I'm talking from experience. All the breeds you've listed need a LOT of exercise or can become very depressed and distructive. Is this what you are after? A breed often over looked is the Bull Mastiff, they are a cracking dog, great with kids too but don't need half the running.
If you want a chat then mail me at wrx.girl@virgin.net (I'm her other half)
Just noticed you've got english bully listed too - I looked after one for about 6 months, lovely dog but NOT good with other doggies - They need a lot of socialisation at a young age. Never met a friendier dog with people though.
Cheers
Mat.

Ive had 4 dobermanns over the last 20yrs(last one died last year to cancer) and they are great dogs IMO,very loving to the family and good guard dogs...Plus ive got a staffy girl whos 12 yrs old, great dog very expressive and really vocal, she literally talks to you, probably best dog ive ever owned btw dont forget staffies like chewing BIG time so watchout for your furniture!!
And ive got a rottweiler, shes 15months old and shes a great dog and much more laidback than my dobermanns and probably softer, not so guardy and vocal ie alot less barking.
If you want a 'easier' dog to own i would say a staff,a great all round dog IMO

We have a dobermann bitch, 2 years old. They need lots of time and exercise. Great with your family and kids, we have 6 kids, one only 15 months, but watch out for everyone else! They were originaly for gaurding and that is what they do! They are also quite moody dogs imo.It all depends on what u want need out of a dog. I realy think that dobermann ownership is something that you should not enter into lighty.

Thanks guys! I went to see a doggie at the weekend and bought him!!! He's a 1 year old Rottweiller cross Labarador!! His name is Trev!!!! He's very sweet. He's a rescue dog. He's very chilled out and very obidient! Very thin though. Big Rotty head and skinny body!! Got to feed him up and give him lots of love!
I'm sure we have made the right choice with him. He's great with my 5 year old and other people!
My other half walks him for miles 3 times a day and so far it's working out fine! Thanks for all your advice
