Most insurance companies will charge less than £150 for a windscreen excess without it impacting no claims bonus.
Check stock levels or lead times with the likes of auto glass, if readily available put a big crack in zone A of windscreen ( defined as 290mm width ,which centre line being middle of steering wheel) and then get a nice sparkly new one, as shipping on a 2nd hand one wont be cheap

won't help him much with a side window...........
you'll also probably find its the wrong tint as JDM cars tend to be fairly oddball compared to Euro spec stuff
