Crank pulley tool
Hi all,
Is there anyone in the newport/cardiff area that has access to a crank pulley tool? If so, would they be willing to lend it - small fees considered I've ordered bits and plan on doing cambelt, water pump, crank oil seal, oil pump bolt check etc.
Car is an 03 WRX wagon, with standard crank pulley. I've read various threads regarding different methods of undoing the bolt, but having a tool to counter-hold the pulley seems the best for both undoing and re-torqueing the bolt.
Any help appreciated,
Dave

I have one I used on a V5 JDM STi. It's still on loan from the original owner. This one will rest on the floor/inner box section while you get a maoosive breaker bar to undo the sucker.
Nr Llandaff Cathedral/Western Ave in Cardiff.

If the tool Ian has offered you fails due to different pulleys. I have a flywheel locking tool that slips in where the starter motor goes. Works a treat.

Dylan.

Thanks both. From what I have found the pulley bolt centres are different on the older version scoobys?
Dylan, does the tool locate easily in the flywheel - is it a pin that fits in a hole in the flywheel or does it use the ring gear teeth? i've had similar results with a crude but effective piece of angle iron in the ring gear teeth of a civic before but was a bit hesitant to try it on the scoob... Where are you located?
Thanks

Cheers guys, pulley bolt off with the help of a long prybar and pins in the pulley, and a crude but effective tool (handy piece of angle iron) to lock the ringear... All timed up, tomorrow evening is belt change and all the other bits...
