I am posting this to gather some interest on a proposed run around the Black Mountains, Brecon and Mid Wales area to take place some time in October.

This would I imagine take a similar path to the run we had last year, and hopefully this year will see some better weather as well.

There is a thread on the Clio 197/200 forum which they have started with a view to organising the run.

I can't view the thread myself so Geraint will fill in the missing information later on, but as we all know there are some great driver's road up there and a few more local members (and I can think of one really keen one) will be all over this like a rash.

Remember it's not a race but a chance to take your car out and have a drive around some of the best roads in the UK.

I might even jump in as a passenger as my car won't be ready for action until some time in November.

Hi Guys!

The whole of 197/200.Net are coming to our region for the annual Brecon&Blacks Meet/Drive along with ClioSport.net

we usually get really good numbers with this, so this should be a great day!

Some key points

Meeting in Merthyr Tydfil retail park:

When: October 6th.

Time: Meeting there at 9am, ready to leave at 9:30 and start the drive

This is the route, total time is 2Hr 45 Min, 105 miles. Plenty of fuel stops, picture places and food areas.
The scenery is stunning in the Beacons national park areas that we will be driving through.

The attending list on the day is usually massive, so lets get the same again this year.

My brother just bought a Clio 200 with the recaros and cup chassis, thing is epic for the money, well impressed!!
Shame for him he lives in Saudi so wont be around i wouldnt have thought.

Evil.soup; they're amazing cars for the money. There's not much that will come close on twisties. The Recaros are a must have in them, adds to the driving experience

While it's nice for people to see the route, I'd take it down. You'll attract unwanted attention from both ends of the law.

Only because I haven't come across you in an Impreza, everytime I see you it's in the poxy works van.

Being honest you don't need much of a straight to pull a gap on you hot hatch owners, we proved that a few years back with assorted Clio 172's, 182's and a couple of 197's I believe, as for Civic Type R's we all thought they had pulled over and stopped they lost so much ground.

But I have to say that hot hatches are definitely the future for performance motoring.
