I had a PPG in my old Type R, Ran close to 480BHP and over 500Lbs and it wasn't treated with kid gloves.
I now have a newage STI with the 6 speed box, I prefer the ratios of the 5 speed but it was always in the back of mind that even PPG's are prone to breaking.
Scoobyclinic have there own 5 speed gearset that has prooved even better than the PPG stuff. well worth a look

Having had a 6 speed in a classic running over 400bhp if i was gonna do it again id try a 5 speed with a helical cut PPG kit i think as i didnt like the 6 speed at all...
When on a run with a 5 speed most of the gear changes were between 3rd and 4th so a nice straight change, with the 6 speed felt like i was always in the wrong gear and seems to be more changing between 4th and 5th so not a straight change.

There are plenty of guys on here running PPG's in the normal road cars, at one point they were cheaper than 6 speed's so plenty we're sold by Scoobyclinic, API, Zen etc
I had a straight cut one and loved the sound it made, with a standard 5th it was perfect for motorway journeys aswell.
