6 speed box

You need to drive both UK & JDM 6 speeds, the JDM having shorter 5th & 6th gears. I have a JDM in a classic & love it but it is a personal thing & depends how & where you drive.

I prefer the JDM gearing in my Spec C, the overall final drive ratio still allows a theoretical top speed of 182mph at the top of 6th gear.
Now whether that could ever be reached is another thing but I look forward to trying once it's mapped and back from Enginetuner.
I'm hoping with 500bhp or thereabouts should allow me to see how close I can get, on a runway of course.

Assuming your car is UK/euro spec a UK STi 6speed box will go straight in with your rear diff, just need the six speed box, linkage and prop shaft and box cradle/carrier.
To fit a JDM sti box u will also need to change the rear diff, which i think would require change the rear drive shafts and hubs etc aswell.
I fitted a UK 6 speed out of a bug eye STI in my MY00 UK classic
