engine rebuild
hello all my name is lee and im kind of new to all of this internet forum thing but i have a problem which im hoping you guys could help me with, i have just bought a wrx blobeye with a slightly knocking bottom end and after removing the engine i have spoken to 2 machine shops which have both advised against regrinding my crank should it need this, is this the same experiance you guys have had or is there somebody out there who can be trusted to do this in the local area? I am a mechanic myself so dont mind the stripping part of it but if i could just drop the block off complete and pick up rebuilt i wouldnt mind this also as it would save me the hassle of stripping it,lol. thanks in advance for any help.

Personally, I'd renew the crank! Lots of places to do rebuilds, API, ScoobyClinic, EngineTuner!
I've had first rate experience with EngineTuner in Plymouth, speak to Alan Jeffery on 01752 345880 and talk through your options he will get your engine picked up and dropped off for you
Welcome to Scoob ownership by the way

There are several reputable specialists you can contact through ScoobyNet API included. They will all tell you grinding a Scooby crank is a massive no no. Only use a reputable specialist as these engines have to be built perfectly to last.
