Default Car is getting there.. but small question!

Productive afternoon on the car - new front bumper fitted, polished and sealed, spotlights wrapped (to look like carbon covers) turbo back 3" milltek fitted, coilovers adjusted again! .. .

However, I've got a walbro here ready to fit - after having a good read of SN looks like the advice on whether the car will overfuel or not if one is fitted and not remapped is confusing.. some say it will, some say it won't. I'll probably fit it and then get a run on the rollers to check what the fuelling is like, but anyone got any experience?

cheers!

In theory it shouldn't have any issues as the fuel reg controls the pressure in the rail,BUT some have had issues so like you already have in mind get her on the RR to be safe.

It should be fine fella.
The FPR controls fuel pressure and I can only assume that a dodgy injector, or a duff lambda will cause issues.
As far as I was told it is better to have a stronger fuel pump as at high revs there is less chance of running lean, as the more flow the better. Plus the older pump may not function as it should when new (under performing).

Me I`d fit it (I have to mine).

I know the rail pressure is controlled by the FPR, but it does it by restricting the flow back to the tank (after the rail) so if you have a crazy strong pump (walbro = 255LPH, std = 40!) then it can cause overfuelling.. still that's better than running lean! will probably put it in this avo, after the bikes have finished!

Well.. fitted the pump and the car is a lot better. I always had a feeling the old one was iffy (car seemed to run a little inconsistently, with less power the less fuel there was..) TBH, there was less of an effect than I'd hoped for when I fitted the decat. Changing th pump seems to have added 20hp, with much better part throttle response. Another ECU reset and I reckon we're getting there!
