Default The new motor.. and a proper hello!

Afternoon chaps!

As some of you know, I've been hanging around a bit and looking to get into a scooby for a while. Thanks for your help those who gave it

So, sold my M3 and was on the lookout for a classic uk wagon.. tempted by an STI but the ones for sale all seem to have some sort of issue or look like dogs! Aiming for service history over looks, I found this one lurking in surrey. full history (including original receipt) 1 owner for 14 years, then then bloke I bought it from. No rust, nice new set of pirellis and standard apart from a backbox.

Of course the thing was a bit dirty so I stayed on last night and got it cleaned:

just to give you an idea of the filth!

that's better!

Got all the tar off:

A quick de-swirl:

got rid of some scratches and more swirls:

Thats better!

seats came back nicely with a scrub too:

Also had a look under it as there is a little oil leak that drips onto the exhaust when it's hot looks like it's coming from under the cambelt cover in the middle, so that will get sorted when I change the cambelt in the next couple of months. She also needs some paint and a wheel refurb, which will happen over the next few months when I get 5 mins!

Looking forward to getting out and driving it now! So out with pistonheads sunday and I'll be at the meet on wednesday.

Hope to see you soon!

James

P.S. If anyone has bits they are looking to get rid of let me know! Will be needing cambelt+tentioners, front discs and pads soon, also looking to upgrade the exhaust to turbo back and get an induction kit on it. (eventually aiming for 300ish hp, but want to get it mechanically straight before I play too much!)

Looks a tidy example, let the modding begin LOL

99/00 front bumper, bit of colour coding and some nice wheels and it would be a different car

Welcome along Ti22 Looks like you had a nice little buy there. If you want a set of the standard wheels, i have a set of 16's here that have just been refurbed, but are in gold.
