Further to my other thread about the clutch - i have just come back from the garage and here are a few pics of the clutch








The rivets have completely sheared but as you can see from the other parts of the clutch, there is hardly any wear on it at all.....
Should this have happened ???
I dont launch the car off the lights and the clutch has done roughly 6.5k, nearly all of that easy driving.

This went bang at 30mph !!!

 

my renault 19 16v rag top did that to group n clutches when i was running nos.

 

Looks like the clutch was found wanting as it's been ripped apart!!

 

You would usually expect to see that kind of failure through abuse and LC but as said it's not been abused so I would contact the seller.

 

That gave up big style. Like ty said get in touch with whoever you bought it off

Is it the 'Pink Box' uprated type or the 'Blue Box' standard type?

Well spotted my Padawan, you spotted my deliberate mistake and you go to the top of the class.

It's an AP clutch, not an Exedy !

 

Sorry but Notfub has got the gold stars for his spotting of my typo error but I'll give you a commendation for your sterling effort as well.

 

Top service from Lateral Performance, who supplied my pink box Exedy Racing Clutch (fitted today).

Tony, as everyone else has said, speak to the supplier mate, very strange.
