Thumbs down This might be of intrest to some

HI guys sorry for the inconvenience to some but I am hanging my tools up for the foreseeable future until I set myself up as a business. So that means I won't be able to help you guys for a while.

I am taking this precaution after a comment was made about me.

Happy motoring guys.

See you all soon.

Dylan

Sorry to hear this Dyl, bloody shame mate youve done some cracking work of late.
Its unfortunate its the times we live in that people get very jealous of someones talents and feel the need make life hard for them., i experienced similar when i first started ou in buisness.
It all happens for a reason mate, im a big believer in that, and no doubt in 10 years time you'll be up there with the likes of Engine Tuner and Api drinking a cup of cofee with half a dozen blokes working for you and wondering what all the fuss was all about.
Seriously mate, all the best for the future, im sure you wont need any luck but im sending you some anyway. Would also like to thank you for your help with me too.
Rob

It just got me thinking that's all. If you are thinking it, who else is?
Setting up my own business is something I've been meaning to do for a while, so why not start now.

I did panic when you posted what you did.

I ONLY POST PICTURES OF WHAT I DO BECAUSE I KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE ENJOY LOOKING AND READING ABOUT THOSE SORT OF THINGS. I DON'T DO IT TO SHOW OFF MY SKILLS OR TO RUB PEOPLES NOSES IN IT.

not meant at you bluerigster.

I did expect some reaction as I'm a wind-up, but even I didn't expect to upset the huge following you have! I'm sorry guys it was a false alarm, save the online assault for some other poor sod.

this is the problem with public forums like this all the thank you threads etc and you can find your self in trouble rather quick just by writing or posting pic's

hope your idea of opening a garage goes well as it's alot of hard work starting out on your own, i done the courses with venture wales 2 years ago to start on my own, there is so much to take in and do and you need alot of money behind you

I'm sure the Swansea scoobs will keep you busy tho as it must be something in the pump fuel over there that they all keep breaking

best of luck mate

Dont see the problem with what your doing Dyl. You do the work and we donate some money to you. No need to tell the tax man about donations to your RA fund

Your annual tax allowance should cover the amount of work you carry out through SWS, by obtaining receipts for jobs and paying an accountant to write of tax off against overheads and fuel costs. I doubt you would even be eligiable to pay income tax anyway. When running a business just purchase a new 4x4 every three years on finance and rent the biggest unit you can find and take out family and friends as customers for entertainment along with all other strokes your accountant suggests. Some of wealthiest people I know pay very little in the form of income tax as they spend the majority of it on outgoing through the business.

As far as l know it is OK [ legal maybe ] to run a business from a garage at an end of terrace house. lt definitely used to be so. Just in case you do live in an end of terrace.

It is very tough out there in the motor repair business these days, even for well established business like APi [ 29 years and counting ] Good luck with any venture you start - quality will always succeed, nose to the grind stone mate and keep focussed. No mates rates and freebies for a while, just till you get going.

Couldn't agree more there David, its a very hard time at the moment given everyone's attitude toward money, that said ive noticed people are more inclined to spend on there current car than buy a new one but only with trusted and established business's.
My father has had our business for 28 years now and ive been along side him for the last 12,since the recession we have seen an increase in work load but only down to our reputation in our area.
I wish you all the luck wish your venture Dyl and hopefully with the good work and name you have already it should go well for you and as i mentioned the work is out there to had mate.
