hi guys just wondering what your thoughts are on after market top mount inter coolers cheers

 

Wouldn't bother personally, you won't get better than the STI 8 top mount (the one with STI on it in red) and thats advice coming from one of the best Subaru mappers. Good for 400 BHP apparently.

 

i know but the sti ones are £200 plus and i might be able to get an aftermarket one for possibly £100

 

Pay cheap, pay twice. £200 because they are very good, take no modding and all you need to do it change the undertray

Unless it's a second hand Hyperflow or Forge don't bother.

 

Jap performance tested these a few years back and they worked worse than the standard ones

To be honest it looks like it was made in a CDT school lesson, you are far better off going for an STi intercooler or better still an STi Spec C intercooler as they have a larger core.

In the case of the TMIC you are interested in bigger is not always better.
