Wink Project RA tidy-up

Well it's well overdue so i finally started it today.

My poor RA has been sat with limescale all over it now for the last 10 months. After loads of insurance bullsnit i've decided to do a full re-fresh, respray and engine bay tidy up

Started today after waiting for the floor paint to dry in the garage.
Engine is out and loom removed, gearbox out tomorrow and all otherthings in the bay ready for the paint to be applied.

Got some pretty cool ideas for the engine bay just need to start sourcing the parts im after.
Ooo and my Ohlins will be here monday. Couldn't resist.

Anyone's welcome to pop-in Cup of tea's alway brewing.
As you can see plenty of parking

More progress tomorrow.

The car will stay a rolling shell. So as long as you can help me push there's plenty of room.

Muttley I'm thinking of buying a log burner to go in the corner plus I have a space heater.

Blinking flip Dylan, when I saw the car in the week it was in the garage with the engine still in - you don't hang about do you?

Are you still going ahead with the engine build?

Engine build is a go. But I want to start prepping the body for paint first and build up the parts for the engine in the mean time. Just need my crank and pistons.

I'll keep an eye out for you then just make sure though that the tea only use 2 sugars or you'll been running around like a toddler full of E food additives.

I'll try and drop in one night after work.

With fresh paint and an engine out it's a great place to start.

Default TODAYS PROGRESS

Well, today I finished removing the gearbox and a few things in the bay.
Tomorrow i need to remove the last front shaft that put up such a fight it broke my breaker bar!!!
Then i can remove the master cylinder and then out for a huge pressure washing sesh and degrease.

Hopefully will be prepping the shell next week.

Q. Do I go for a new roof skin and TWO flaps??

Also started stripping the spare engine i have ready to be sent off for a re-bore.
Had a shock too!!

Good progress Dylan, you are like the Duracell bunny once started you don't stop.

Looking at the state of those pistons it's lucky that you are going for a rebore and stroker build, were the rings missing or have they disintergrated?

The RA should really be something when it's finished.

Any stainless bits you've got such as exhaust manifold/downpipe/centre section/backbox (not chrome plated) I will acid etch and passivate for you FOC if you post them to me
