Default Asking a silly question about the rev alert on STI

I have turned my alert down from 7,000 RPM to 5,000 RPM and was wondering if this will make any difference to the power.

I know its a silly question as surely its just an alert and not a limiter but I just dont know for sure so wondered if anyone could offer an answer.

I'm sure it's just an alert - shift lite type alert

that what I think but after it turned it down I only booted the car a little but it seemed a little sluggish.

But that was at half three today and it was quite hot out then.

Just my imagination I guess.

Did it feel like a limiter at 5K revs ? you know that "Bouncin" rev sound ? as you say the traffic probabaly didn't let you rev fully anyway

it's just an alert telling you to change gear....mine is sluggish when it's warm..for instance if I have let it tick over for 10 mins picking up my daughter from school, it then feels like it's down on power....

It just seemed a but sluggish. No bouncing off the limiter.

I know it sounds a but daft but I thought that the ECU might somehow know that I turned the rev alert down suggesting I wanted to drive less hard and subsequently somehow delivered less power by maybe delaying the introduction of the turbo.

I know I must sound extremely thick

Sorry chaps.

It was a hot day and I was on the Malpas in traffic. So I think Alsieboy is right in that it was just a bit hot.

As already stated it's an alert not a limiter. I had mine set to 6500, I have continued to rev to 8k.
