Having seen the rebuild first hand I can only say I take my hat off (if I were wearing one) to you Dylan.
You have far more patience than me and your attention to detail is exceptional, if I were doing the job or even capable of doing it then it would take months or even years and probably then it would never be finished.
Simon really should have quite an engine in his car shortly, he'll probably have the fastest auto Impreza in the UK.

Thanks Dylan You are doing an AWESOME job there - after that very bad day , you are the light at the end of the tunnel !!!
Brilliant Pics and looking forward to seeing your hard work take shape - it's very interesting to say the least - even if I don't understand "some" of what you say
Dylan, you get a huge thumbs up from me and I would recommend you to anyone
Cheers Mate Si.

Top job there Dylan. Your garage puts mine to shame, perhaps it's time for a spring clean!
Glad it's coming along for you Si.

UPDATE
Well heres a further update with what i have been doing on Simon's engine this week.
Went to fit the left hand head and disaster, when cleaning the heads down in the parts washer i noticed the cleaning solution was'nt staying in the inlet of cylinder 2 when looking you couldnt see a gap but after rotating the valves slightly it was obvious..
Stripped head down and ordered new valves ASAP.
In the mean time i continued with the clean up and rebuild.
My atempt at an arty shot
In my spare time i have started stripping the other CDB i had hiden in my garage. Im considering a 2.1 high reving engine but not 100% yet. Might build it and sell it on.
Spare Cranks Building Up
Cosworth Belt Anyone??
Brown Box Of Goodies. Wonder where it came from??
Will be busy the week end.
Want to fit the engine tomorrow and get on with making the parrallel fuel rail brackets (someone sold us the wrong one). Run new fuel lines and find somewhere for the oil catch tank to sit.
Will update tomorrow.
