2011 SWS Nurburgring Trip?
It's been a couple of years since I've been to the 'Ring and am gagging to go again, who would be up for a wee trip next year? Price wise, budget about £1k ish for a nice long weekend plus any laps in the 'Ring Taxi you have
Leave bright and breezy on a Thursday/Friday morning then head to Dover and it's 4 and a half hours from Calais at a steady pace
Hopefully John from SP Developments could come with us too, I know he's a 'Ring regular
It's worth going even for a 'gentle' lap or two!!

I would definitely be up for this if for no other reason to best Jeremy Clarksons times, I've always wanted to have a go on the 'ring' and see what it is all about.
Consider me in.

After all the Spec C's, RA's, RA-R's, S202/3/4's were built in order to drive around tracks like the Nurburgring.

As we have a year to plan and save, count me in too.
I might have to consider changing my gearbox before this takes place, I dont think I could put up with doing high rev's ( 4.7k rpm @ 75mph ) for 4 hours, plus I dont think engine would last long either.

I could put a P1 5th in like Kev did with his, but I've already got a 1000 rev difference between 4th and 5th at the moment and I feel if I increase this anymore, any benefit I had before would be wasted.
I've been thinking of changing it for a while as motorway journeys are just a no go, going through the lanes its perfect.
I've got a while to see whats best for my style of driving.

Is SIDC running a Spa trip next May? as I though SIDC joined up with MLR to do a combined trip to Spa, as most members go to the Nurburgring during the same weekend. I'm heading over with the MLR so be good if it was the same weekend.
Also for those venturing over make sure you take out Adac breakdown cover as this is a German recovery service which will also covers ring. It also can be used in the UK in association with the AA. So should you breakdown or have a bump you can ask for Adac recover to collect your car and drive you back to the UK.
I'm spending the weekend June 25-27th 2009 at the ring, is anyone else going this weekend? as it would be good to meet up for a few pints etc.
