Local Turbocharger Companies
I am considering changing the VF34 turbo on my car plus associated further modifications in order to push the power up towards 400bhp.
I have come across a VF48 and the impellor blades are marked and TBH even though the impellor shaft may be ok and still balanced I would be happier with a new shaft and blades plus new seals at the same time.
I seem to remember mistakingly or not that there is a company somewhere local possibly in the Rhondda that overhauls and repairs turbos, has anyone heard of them or used them?
If the cost of the repair is high then I will look elsewhere but I would like some costings first before taking things any further.

What are you considering then Dylan - a track car or putting more power into the RA?

Not sure what to do yet Tyron. Hopefully the ra will look box fresh soon but don't know if want to get another and track that one. It would be a shame to ruin the car after it's done. Got two CDB engines here now so got plenty of options. 2.2 Cosworth sound stunning but Roger Clark's prices are real scary.

In a stripped out car weighing about the same as a shoe box should make for quite a machine.

Why not go for a stroker conversion, Lateral Performance I think are doing the kit for £1595 and you are easily capable of building the engine. I can see it now with ACL race bearings, RCM oil pump, Cosworth 14mm head bolts and head gasket, etc...

Spending out on having a 14mm head bolt conversions isn't necessary. As Cosworth uses a higher tensile strength steel on their ultra high performance 11mm head bolts and are more than capable of eliminating any head movement.
