so they changed belt and not tensioner should let people know not to take their scoobs there as it seems they haven't got a clue

cheers guys
the car sales that i bought the scoob from took it to the garage that fixed it as it is under warranty so it was their choice, they wouldnt take it to a subaru dealer i was told the guy that had it was a impreza enthusiast and had owned 11 of them, i have talked to him on the phone and he seems like a good bloke.......but you never can tell

just goes to show if the fella who owned it had 11 scoobs and an enthusiast he would know where was the best place to take it for work to be done on it and would not have had the wrong belt put on it ect..

that garage should be name and samed as they are filling people full of sh@t

sorry mate misunderstanding...... the guy who did the work on it for the warranty was the enthusiast, he is the one that noticed the wrong timing belt etc etc

apparently mate i have a different bottom end in my engine and the timing belt was the wrong one fitted, when it went over xmas it was due to the belt slipping in the -freezing weather.
went again on monday same problem a slip but now they have replaced the belt tensioners with upgraded/aftermarket ones

same as lee, but you got a sweet looking car there so as you say as long as you dont get any more problems with it you should be fine but if you do get any more problems tell your car sales guy that you dont want it going back to the nummptys garage and that if you have any more problems you want him to change the car or give you some sort of compo, for a long time of trouble free motoring now

Scoobs don't like continuous high speeds such as motorways, get it on a B road with loads of twisties and it will seduce you all over again.
Having had a few probs with mine over the past year (which hopefully are over), i've had to regain my trust in mine, which is coming back slowly.
