Rich, I'd tread carefully there mate. V4 STI Ecu's into uk spec impreza trubo needs some research to make sure nothings running lean etc. What happens if you swap your original ECU back? Does it not play ball due to the ignition/immobiliser?
Did your original setup have a transponder immobiliser built into the key? If so there is a separate receiver built around the key barrel. This has a wire that connects to a small spearate black box (quite small) that in turn connects to the main sigma unit. Just waffling on here Rich but don't want you to run into further trouble down the line with the ecu swap.

havent tried the original back in yet, the fella I bought the ecu off said it had been modified to run with a uk engine??? yeah there was a key reader for the old ignition but it doesn't recognise the key since they ripped it out. got a new column and ignition on from a wrx. have to try the old ecu and bypass the immobiliser somehow if it wont work as it is.

Rich have you uprated the fuel pump?
It may be that your not getting enough fuel flow. I have a complete JDM WRX fuel pump assembly hanging round in the shed doing nothing. It's from a 260BHP V3/4.
If you have swapped from a UK to JDM ECU then this could be the problem.
