Default Check engine light

Hi I was driving along today at about 50, downchanged to 2nd BY MISTAKE via a tiptronic box on my WRX `03 and now the check engine light is on NOW AND AGAIN ??? The car didn't realy suffer as it went nowhere near the redline and was only momentarily in the "wrong gear" what do ya think ??

Nice one thanks for the offer - it's now gone out ?? I looked in the manual and it said that the emission sensors were or maybe at fault - not a code, but basic info from the warning light section, I will keep an eye on it - the book said that if it comes on and flashes then it's picked up a misfire ??

Default check engine light

hi i am new to the site i am having a problem with the engine light to. i recently bought a turbo 2000 v5 1999 reg impreza it has had graham goode racing fast road conversion and i have a print out at 286bhp. when i was driving it it didnt feel fast. when i got home i noticed there was a jubliee clip missing form the intercooler hose going into the enigine. so i put one on and tightened it then suddenly the car was really fast but when i got in fourth gear at 4000 revs the 'check engine' light came on and lost its power. so i have to run the car with the jublie clip barely tightened so air is escaping does any body no the problem? i would appreciate any help towards this thanks

286 BHP is quite respectable, what version is the car UK or JDM?

It may just be you need uprated jubilee clips and job done. Have a look at Merlin Motor Sport or David Lloyd Rallying (he's local) as is Dave Coe Engineering in Gorseinon
