Default What i've been up to in the last month with my V5 with pics.

Well guys, i've been real busy with the scoob this month and haven't really had the chance to post up on here what i've been up too. But, i've finally had some time to sit back today and sort out some pics.

Well first thing i have changed on the car is the splitter, i had a very subtle V6 splitter on my V5 but felt it lacked some attitude, so the only option for me was the P1 splitter. I had put one of these on my white scooby and was really impressed with how aggressive the car looked with it fitted. Well after seeing it on the car i think i made the right chioce, really gives the car that look i was going for

Ok, next thing up to tell you is about my Japanese performance magazine photoshoot. Jap mag have been running features it their magzine giving people a guide to buying "your first skyline" for example, but this time they were doing a feature on "Your first STI".
They were looking for a stage 1 STI (mine) and a stage 2 STI (Daone's off scoobynet) The feature will be a 6 page feature, first 2 pages will be of both cars, second 2 pages will be of my STI V5 and the third 2 pages will be of Daone's STI V6. The photoshoot was at quintec test track in surrey. Had a great day and i'm sure the feature is gonna be awesome. The magazine feature will be in january's issue which comes out in december.

Well as i knew the photoshoot was coming up i decided to clean up some of the crappy parts on the engine bay and spray them up in black, which i think looks nice as it has a feel of oem about it. Also i was lucky enough that SFS hoses had decided to sponsor the car and gave me a full set of hoses for the V5 which would've cost me about £400 I had their boost, induction and coolant hoses. Gotta point out that the induction hose is f**king massive so air flow has been improved no end...BUT.....word of warning, it was a nightmare to fit and not a job to take lightly, i thought it would be a couple of hours to fit but it ended up being an all day job. Saying that though the end result is worth it

I plan to continue on the engine now and get the header tank, turbo heatshield and some brackets powder coated black, then i was thinking s/s alternator, battery, fuse box and barke res covers to finish it off.

Also, fitted a blitz nur spec r, forgotten how bloody loud these things are but boy does it sound amazing, lol. Gonna try some sound deadening sheets in the boot and rear seats just to see if it tones the cabin noise down a bit....wishfull thinking i think though, lol

Anyway, here's some pics, hope you enjoy and feel free to leave a comment

Before and after of brackets

My lovely SFS hoses

The Daddy!

Before hoses

After hoses

During

You can see from this pic just how much of a pain that hoses was to fit

Few of the car with new splitter

And a few of mine with my good mate Stuart's - Both V5's

I really think you should've gone with either black or red hoses. The blue ones just don't look right IMO.

Nah, red would've looked crap next to the red manifold, manifold would've been lost.

I want to keep the manifold the only red part on the engine, i intend to get lots of my engine bay powder coated black so when it's one colour i think it'll look spot on.

Each to their own though

Cars looking great Paul. Thats what i was planning to get my car looking like, but after having the stupid bodykit on for so long and having all the grounding the bumper issues, i opted for the version 6 splitter not the P1. I'm enjoying the clearance of the version 6 splitter, didn't want to go through all that again with the P1 splitter.
