Default Is fitting a fuel pump difficult??

Im about to get the car mapped so a new fuel pump is in order. I am thinking of getting a Walbro pump but im not sure how easy it is to fit.

Im sure plenty of you have fitted them before so i was after a little advice, do i fit it myself or just get it to someone with a bit of know how and how much would fitting cost??

Thanks in advance,
Ian

Pretty simple, took me around 30 mins all in all, remove rear seats, on the driver side you will see a small hatch that needs unbolting, this will gain access to the pump/tank.

Few nuts to remove, 8mm from memory, then pull assembly out, swop OE unit for uprated item, and refit.

One thing to bear in mind, many suggest reusing the OE filter bag as it is better than the one supplied with the Walbro ones. This may have changed now though.

Cheers lads, i think i will give it a go myself then. To tell the truth i thought it would be a lot of crawling under the car trying not to cover myself in petrol

No its all done from inside the car, a good point about having a small amount of fuel in the tank, I had roughly half from memory, and didn't get any on me or the car.

Just one more small point to watch out for, be very careful lifting the seats from the car, you can quite easily catch the door shut and scratch it

Can i twist one of your arms for help in a couple of weeks if you have the time, there is no rush as long as i get it done before the re-map in April.
