Default Legacy won't start

Hi all you legacy out there. I'm going to pick up my MY93 Legacy GL tomorrow. So, was wondering someone can help.

The guy how's selling it, said it was driving fine but it just died on him. Tried to start it, but it would only turn over but not fire. The starter motor is fine.

I was thinking on the lines of the maf sensor. Would the maf off my 95 impreza fit the leggy?

If anybody else has any suggestion

Cheer
Chris

Surly a broken maf would still let it start it would just run on a lumpy idle, It could be a dodgy alternator leading to a flat battery!!!!

Probably wouldnt even turn over if its the alternator/battery, mine wouldnt.

Possibly could be fuelling?? Trouble with starting problems is its difficult to say without digging, i wouldnt have thought it was much though.

Good luck with it mate

Right, the car wouldn't start because the timing belt was loose. This was because the sprocket had shattered . So, replaced it with the spare I had. And started her up and low and behold It runs sweet and a nut .
So, I have a 93 Leggy GL estate for £77 as a run about
