Default Police car permanantly parked up at the BP on the A449

Anyone know what that's about? I regularly come home via the M50 and A449 and there is a BP garage on a roundabout and there is always a police Astra parked up there, never seen a copper in it and it's there all times of the day and night.

Is this some ploy to make us think they're actually monitoring the road, or do that garage just sell really really good donuts?

I don't think they're actually doing anything as I once accidentially had a bit of sideways action on that roundabout (probably diesel ) and nothing came of it.

Anyone know what's going on?

More than likely - they do the same at Magor services

So let me get this right. as taxpayers we have paid for them to spend what? 12 grand on a Vauxhall bloody Astra and maybe £500 for a set of gay stickers to go on it, just so that they can leave it parked up somewhere to con us into thinking they're actually doing some work?

Edit: wait no, that's £24grands worth of Astras and a grands worth of gay stickers if they're doing the same at Magor too.

That's 25 grand that could have probably paid a years wages for 5 hospital cleaners or something.

i pass there twice a day five days a week being a truck driver .and its allways there i stopped for fuel the other week and asked the same thing to the guy behind the counter and he said they get a lot of drive offs. so the rozzers just leave the car there just as a deterant what a waste of tax payers money

But surely thieves would soon realise there isn't actually a policeman on patrol considering they leave the car there 24/7. At least make it look less obvious and move it every day. Geez.
