all my marshal passes are in the post to me so should have them soon!
Will be going to the stadium again this year, allways good. and marshaling one of the portalbot stages, plus hopefully go to watch one or two stages a day, make a good weekend of it!
Im not sure about the change of service area from felindre, i havent been down to the new place, but think it will be a bit chaotic with traffic going thru swansea, anyone seen the new site yet?

yeah, its one my doorsteo.
cars won't need to go through city centre so there shouldn't be a problem. Its a nice site and I think there will be alot more visitors to the service area in the new location.

I'll be out on this somewhere, not sure where yet though usually marshal Port talbot then go to the stadium on the saturday. Tried to watch the Epynt stages last year but was a bit of a rush to get to Cardiff. Always a top weekend though untill it comes to cleaning the car the following week

Sadly I'm off work at the mo had an op on my knee so I wont be around to do it this year

I was wondering the same about the stand at the service park, not that i made it last year, slight hangover I would defo be up for this this year.

The new location is a great idea, it should see far more visitors and is in a really nice spot.

I wanted to watch the special stage this year but im going to be on the ranges all day on the Saturday, i prefer getting stones and mud in my teeth rather than watch it from a distance

Had a drive round the Village hotel area at weekend but could'nt visualise the location of the service area, compared to Felindre there just is'nt the space, all construction sites and mixture of derelict scrubland. Maybe i was looking at the wrong area. Gutted it isn't at Felindre, had loads of fun last year waiting for the cars on the roundabout and following them to the stages, even the missus was impressed. Swansea Bay area will just be full of chavs, Police etc, so you won't get near. I think traffic will be a problem as well, at Felindre you were straight onto the M4. Imagine trying to get down the 483 dodging the supermarket posse driving with their heads up their *****.

The 'old RAC' is running again this year (14th of Nov I believe for 3 or 4 days!). Starting in Yorkshire and finishing in the old scotish forests!

I was trying to persuade spuddy to go there this year instead of RallyGB, but he was having none of it... Next year though!!

If anyone is going up there for it, give me a shout as I've got my hands on the official saftey manual off the clarke of the course. If anyone wants a copy let me know your email, and I'll send it over. It contains all the routes for the event, including service and refuel points. Very handy!

Cheers.

Jon.

Aahhh, the days when it was free, you could almost drive onto the stage then walk straight across the starting line next to the rally cars. There seemed to be more interesting cars going back 10 years too, i have seen everything from Megans and Celicas to a Fiat 500.

Im not bloody 40 though!!!

did you drive to the round about and go straight on then turn left in to king's road????

if your coming to the swansea service area and using a tom tom plot in to king's road not kings road as you will end up in mumbles six miles out of town..so dont forget the( ' )......

I have decided to dig out my marshals licence for duty on friday at Port talbot despite still trying to shake off pneumonia

Might pop along to the stadium on sat although not as impressed with it there as when it was at the bay with the water jump, mud and freezing wind
